Trauma Nurse

Duties and Responsibilities:  A trauma nurse is a licensed registered nurse who cares for patients who have suffered injuries and other medical emergencies. These severe conditions may include head injuries, spinal injuries, gunshot or stab wounds, or injuries sustained in a vehicular accident. They usually work in emergency alongside doctors.

Salary:  $60,000 to $70,000 per year

Education: You must have basic nursing training and also become a licensed registered nurse. Registered nurses are required to obtain a diploma, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree but if you want to become a trauma nurse, it is required that you earn a bachelor degree.

Reflection: I don’t think I would want to become a trauma nurse because I cannot work well under pressure and since trauma nurses usually work in emergency rooms I think that their jobs are very stressful.
