Duties and Responsibilities: They have to help with answering
emergency and non-emergency phone calls, coordinate all ambulance transports
and emergencies, portray a positive, courteous, professional and helpful image
at all times and are responsible for contacting emergency services such as
police and fire or delegating these responsibilities to the call taker
Salary: $37,040 to $58,020 a year
Education: Must have a
high school diploma or equivalent. They often have a background in
communications and receive some form of on-the-job training. They need to be
able to speak clearly, know basic first aid procedures, and learn how to
operate sophisticated telecommunications equipment. They must be certified
through a state-recognized program.
Reflection: I think that I could be an ambulance
dispatcher because I think I could help organize where to go and I am organized
and be professional in a bad situation. I think that I would consider being a ambulance
dispatcher.
