Anesthesiology

Duties and Responsibilities:  Anesthesiology's focus is reliving pain. Physicians are trained in this with surgical teams on safe sedation methods, monitor vital functions during procedures and manage post surgical pain relief. Anesthesiologists also might practice independently and for intensive care units or and delivery units.
Salary: $343,000 to $425,000 a year
Education: All future anesthesiologists need to attend a four-year undergraduate program. Following graduation,  anesthesiologists have to attend four years of medical school where they spend the first two years on basic sciences and the second two in clinical training. Upon graduation from medical school, an anesthesiologist must spend one year in an internship and three more years in a residency program.

Reflection: I don’t think I would want to be an anesthesiologist because it sounds very hard and you need lots of education to get a degree and after you get a degree you still have to be an intern and then complete the residency program.
