Duties and Responsibilities: Eastern medicine doctor’s study and practice medicine developed in the East Asia (ex China) using traditional methods to treat and prevent disease
Education: Two of education at the baccalaureate level that is appropriate preparation for graduate level work from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Salary: $52,000

 











Reflection: I don’t think I would be a good with eastern medicine because they use lots of natural medicine and I don’t like the smell of herbs because then I start getting a head ache and other things like acupuncture is something I don’t think I will ever attempt to perform.

Chinese (Oriental) Medicine


Duties and Responsibilities:  This type of medicine is abroad range of medical practices sharing common concepts developed in China for more than 2000 years. It includes forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, exercise, and dietary therapy.  It is considered a form of alternative medicine.

Salary:  About $52,000 dollars a year

Education: You must have a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree to study oriental medicine and then take courses in oriental medicine which varies based on which field you go into.


Reflection: I don’t think I would want to be an oriental physician because a lot of what they do includes needles and massage and I am terrible at both. I could probably go into the herbal remedies and dietary therapy but not acupuncture and massage

Acupuncture

Duties and Responsibilities:
 Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific acupuncture points along the skin of the body involving thin needles. Traditional acupuncture involves needle insertion into the skin. It is a form of complementary and alternative medicine and a key component of traditional Chinese medicine .According to TCM, stimulating specific acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of qi through channels known as meridians. Acupuncture aims to treat a range of conditions, though is most commonly used for pain relief.
Salary:
 $49,844 annually
Education:
 Acupuncturists must attend special schools. In 2002, there were 38 programs fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine throughout the United States. Most master's degree programs take three or four years to complete and include both study and clinical experience.

 












Reflection:
I don’t think I would want to be an acupuncturist because I cannot really keep my hand still enough for anything like this. I also wouldn't want to become one because  if I made a mistake I would probably be sued.
