Forgiveness

In the story a man named Eric Smallridge was a prisoner convicted of manslaughter because he was drinking drunk and his passengers Megan and Lisa were killed. He was convicted to serve 22 years and then after a couple of years his sentenced was lowered to 11 years because the mother of one of the victims asked that his sentenced be reduced. The victim’s mother Renee said that it was not going to help staying mad and that the only way to feel better would be to forgive him. So she forgave him and after that they both go around and talk about the dangers of driving drunk at high schools. Even after he was convicted he still goes around talking of the dangers of drinking and driving.
Student Success Statement
“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.”
Alan Paton
Forgive: To stop feeling resentful towards someone for an offence, flaw, or mistake

Reflection: This means that in order to move on form something you must forgive. If someone says something to you won’t be able to move on until you forgive them because if not it will still have power over you.
