Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Duties and Responsibilities:
Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific acupuncture points along the skin of the body involving thin needles. Traditional acupuncture involves needle insertion into the skin. It is a form of complementary and alternative medicine and a key component of traditional Chinese medicine .According to TCM, stimulating specific acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of qi through channels known as meridians. Acupuncture aims to treat a range of conditions, though is most commonly used for pain relief.
Salary:
 $49,844 annually
Education:
Acupuncturists must attend special schools. In 2002, there were 38 programs fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine throughout the United States. Most master's degree programs take three or four years to complete and include both study and clinical experience.

Reflection:
I don’t think I would want to be an acupuncturist because I cannot really keep my hand still enough for anything like this. I also wouldn't want to become one because  if I made a mistake I would probably be sued.
